WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT SOCIAL SECURITY
Any reasonable person who has lived, worked and paid taxes in this country would acknowledge that both major political parties are corrupt. But the following facts about Social Security as well as the shenanigans of one party’s presidential candidate in the recent election and her history as senator and Secretary of State, should make it increasingly clear which of the two parties is far more corrupt than the other.
It is definitely past time for a sweeping change across the board in this country! The morally bereft politics of both parties should tell us the time has come for the resurgence of candidates with good strong Christian and moral values which are, in essence, true American values. The party by far most likely to forward candidates with these values is the Independent American Party (IAP).
The one thing the following information fails to mention is that our payments into Social Security over our lifetimes are invested and bring in a great deal of profit – all funds we never see. Due to inflation, the money we initially paid in was worth far more than the money we get back in our Social Security payments. The political elite are certainly proficient all the way around in ripping off the American public.
Social Security cards up until the 1980s expressly stated the number and/or card were not to be used for identification purposes. Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the message, NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION, was removed.
The following facts of intent/promises versus reality is a true demonstration of the corruption rampant throughout Washington and one party in particular. Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. He promised:
1. That participation in the program would be completely voluntary
It is no longer voluntary and hasn’t been for many years
2. That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1400 of their annual incomes into the program
It is now 7.65% of the first $90,000
3. That the money the participants elected to put into the program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year
It is no longer tax deductible
4. That the money participants put into the independent “Trust Fund” rather than into the general operating fund would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program and no other government program
Under Lyndon Johnson, a Democrat, the money was moved to the general fund and spent
5. That the annuity payment to the retirees would never be taxed as income
Under Clinton and Gore, also Democrats, it was changed so that up to 85% of your Social Security can be taxed
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month – and then getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the federal government to “put away” for us – you may be interested to know:
Q: Which political party took Social Security from the independent “Trust Fund” and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the Democratically controlled House and Senate.
Q: Which political party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party
Q: Which political party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic party with Al Gore casting the tie-breaking deciding vote as President of the Senate while he was Vice-President of the United States
Q: Which political party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?
A: Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into this country and at age 65 began to receive Social Security payments. The Democratic Party gave these payments to them even though they never paid a dime into it.
Now, after violating the original FICA contract, the Democrats turn around and tpell us that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!
Perhaps the worst, saddest part of this is uninformed citizens believe it. Please feel free to copy this article and send it to everyone you know. If enough people receive it, just maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and, hopefully, the evolution of change will begin
The Independent American Party has 15 Foundational Principles which set it apart from all other political parties. This article shows specific attention to two of the IAP’s Principles.
Principle 4 – We believe it a violation of the Constitution for government to deprive the individual of either life, liberty, or property except for these purposes:
- Punish crime and provide administration of justice;
- Protect the right and control of private property;
- Wage defensive war and provide for the nation’s defense;
- Compel each one who enjoys the protection of government to bear his fair share of the burden of performing the above functions.
Principle 5 – We hold that the Constitution denies government the power to take from the individual either his life, liberty, or property except in accordance with moral law; that the same moral law which governs the actions of men when acting alone is also applicable when they act in concert with others; that no citizen or group of citizens has any right to direct their agent, the government to perform any act which would be evil or offensive to the conscience if that citizen were performing the act himself outside the framework of government.
